Tamarind Chutney

Servings 6 servings

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup tamarind pulp
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 sliced large onions
  • 0.25 cup coconut water
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • cayenne or jalapeno pepper to taste
  • maple syrup or agave nectar to taste
  • 1 cup organic dark raisins
  • 1 finely chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions
 

  • Place all ingredients, except cilantro, in a blender and blend until smooth. If you want a chunkier sauce, add raisins toward the end so they don't break down all the way. Garnish with cilantro.  (Recipe #820)
